One of the most fun ways to get a peek into another person’s life is to experience their city like a local would -- with a homebase in a their space. LifeSwap takes the fun of living how a stranger does one step further. We’ve teamed up with AirBnB to give you a taste of what it’s like to step into someone else’s shoes. We can safely say that this is the best giveaway of any SXSW party around.

The Bella Vista Social Club and Caffè found its home on The Mesa, right next door to the Sanford Consortium three years ago. Since opening their doors Amanda and Nico have done more than bring great minds together over great food...
The Bella Vista has truly become a social club with connections being made and relationships developed, it is the place for community building.
Amanda Caniglia is the owner of the Bella Vista Social Club & Caffé, located at the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine. Bella Vista serves as the social hub for the Innovation and Biotech community on the Mesa, and Ms. Caniglia is honored to be viewed as a true connector of people, ideas, and companies. When not serving up celebrated food and conversation, (“Great minds deserve great food,”) she spearheads the Mesa Project, a grass roots movement to collectively engage San Diego stakeholders in positioning our Smart City—and especially the Mesa cluster of high-tech, biotech and science--on a global scale, driving awareness and business to the region. Ms. Caniglia is on the board of Alliance4Empowerment. She is Small Business spokeswoman for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce; and not least a writer/columnist for San Diego Magazine (“That’s what SHE said.”) A graduate of UCSD in political science, dance, and Spanish literature, Caniglia spent several productive years in Spain and Brazil. She also has a teacher credential from SDSU and instructed courses in Business English for foreign businessmen and women before establishing the Bella V. Her strengths in strategic planning, effective marketing, and the delicate art of social networking all serve to expand opportunities for business growth and profitability in San Diego and the burgeoning mega-region.
Nicolas Caniglia, fluent in seven languages, comes from Switzerland. After several years in sales at the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Nico came to the US. His sales experience and language skills created the perfect background to succeed in the food industry. Nico spent several years working and managing top San Diego restaurants (Buon Appetito, Arrivederci) and Bay Area Italian Restaurants before starting his own cafe. He now runs Swieners, a successful mobile food business, with massive plans for expansion via franchise.
